2012 Houston’s Funniest Person Contest

The Houston Comedy Union is proud to present the 2012 Houston’s Funniest Person Contest

Preliminary and semi-final rounds at the Comedy Showcase, the HCU at Sherlock’s River Oaks and the grand finale at the Houston House of Blues!

Having the contest at separate locations allows us to seriously quicken the pace of the tournament. Start to finish is 3 and a half weeks.

We’ve added head-to-head wild card rounds for each level of the contest, made the semi-finals 2 shows and made the finals a 3 night battle.

We will begin registration at HCU open mic on 3/12.

Read through this and leave your comments/complaints on this blog or at our Facebook page “Houston Comedy Union”

Reblogged this on Comedy Scene In Houston.

  2. inverted lineup leaves the same comedians (5-10) in the sweet spot of the lineup…

  3. John Wessling Says:

Think of it more as shuffled inside out. Early goes late, etc.

  4. John Wessling Says:

    For example first night 1-15 after random draw, 2nd night line up (after coin toss to see which goes first, odd or even) 7, 9, 5, 11, 3, 13, 1, 15, 2, 14, 4, 12, 6, 10, 8
    Confusing, but fair as hell.

  5. So regardless of which round it is, everyone should show up ready to potentially do 10 minutes?

  6. Gail Henkel Says:

I want to sign up for the contest! Who do I contact? I competed in Austin last year. I wanna play!

  7. cidney burroughs Says:

Is it already too late to sign up?
